About

Welcome to the Chaos & Joy!

The Boise Halloween Parade Association, Inc. is a Local 501(c)3 nonprofit run entirely by volunteers who believe in the power of public celebration.

What Drives Us

c 2007
Primarily inspired by NYC's world renowned Village Halloween Parade, Boise Halloween Parade leans heavily on the Masters of Chaos & Joy: "Improve Everywhere", who --  along with the University of Texas-Austin's "Knighthood of Buh" -- was the catalyst for 2007’s ridiculous "Boise No Pants Day"," successfully tapping into Boise's appetite for the absurd, the joyful, and the unexpected.

A Community Built on Participation

We know that Boise loves to show up. Time and again, this community has shown incredible support for participatory events that break the "fourth wall" of city life. We believe that when a city plays together, it thrives. Our mission is to spark Boise’s imagination and boost our local spirit through massive, artistically inspired public art.

The Goal

A parade is more than just a walk down the street—it’s a sensory explosion of color, sound, and movement. It’s an invitation to inhabit our city with freedom and spontaneity. We are officially reclaiming the streets for the sake of art and connection, starting with the Boise Inaugural Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 31st, 2026.

Come animate the heart of Boise!
